FCRE Member Services-Tours sponsors a continuing series of domestic and international tours tailored especially for members and their guests. In addition, a number of day tours are also offered to area buildings, museums, events, and programs. All programs are announced in the FCRE Advocate mailed to all current members.

Travel Notes

*  All tours are funded by participants only, not by membership dues.
*  A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve each tour space.
*  Each non-member guest pays a $50 guest fee for each tour.
*  All rates are per person, double occupancy (pp/do). Supplementary costs apply for those travelling alone. Travelers are responsible for arranging for their own roommates.
*  Not all locations or sites are handicapped accessible.
*  Persons with disabilities wishing to reserve space for any tour program should enclose a letter describing their needs with their initial reservation deposit so that FCRE Member Services and tour suppliers can determine if those needs can be met.

Please remember that all prices quoted are tentative and subject to change because of the changes in the price of oil.

Upcoming Trips

June 5, 2019 - Day trip to Monticello and Highland with Shillelach Travel Club.
First stop is Jefferson’s Monticello and a guided tour followed by a hearty lunch at Michie Tavern.  Then a tour of Highland, the residence of James Monroe.  Price of $135 includes bus transportation, the tours, lunch, taxes and meal gratuities.

August 1-14, 2019 - Spectacular Scandinavia. This trip features Copenhagen, Stockholm, a high-speed train to Oslo, Viking Ship Museum, Flam Railway, Sognefjord, Briksdal Glacier, Geirangerfjord Cruise to experience the beauty of the fjords and spectacular waterfalls. Contact Doris for a brochure.

October 10-17, 2019 - Islands of New England  The red sugar maples in New England are unbelievable with their radiance in the fall. The highlights of this trip include Providence, visit to one of the castles in Newport, Boston, Cranberry Bog, Plimoth Plantation, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Lobster dinner, Provincetown, a choice between Hyannis and Nantucket plus much more. December 1-5, 2019 - Spotlight on San Antonio  A new trip for the holiday season! The lights and decorations on the River Walk are lovely during the holidays. Our hotel is located on the River Walk and convenient for visiting many of the local sights. Our trip includes: Mission San Jose, The Alamo, LBJ Ranch, choice of South Texas Heritage Center or San Antonio Botanical Gardens, El Mercado, and a Paseo del Rio cruise. March 15-28, 2020 - Cultural Treasures of Japan A visit to Japan during the time the cherry blossoms are blooming. Deposit deadline is August 9, 2019.

April 18-26, 2020 - Spotlight on the French Riviera  Spotlight trips are the ones where you stay in the same hotel for 7 nights and venture out from there. This trip goes to Cannes, Nice, Monaco and spots along the Riviera. Deposit deadline is October 11, 2019.

July 17-26, 2020 - Charming French Canada  This trip includes Montreal and Quebec City as well as visits to some of the quaint towns along the St. Lawrence. You stay in three of the Fairmont Hotels including the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac in Quebec!

August 3-15, 2020 - Germany's Cultural Cities & the Romantic Road with Oberammergau Passion Play

This may seem a long way out, but the tickets are selling out quickly and it is necessary to book early. Collette has 7 different trip options that include the Passion Play and many of them are completely sold out.
